The Berry Islands are composed of about 30 large cays and a number of smaller isles, many of them privately owned. Recenty developed as a resort area, these Islands offer long stretches of white sand beaches sheltered by coconut palms. Located 30 miles north of Nassau, these Islands are on the edge of the deep water channel from Miami. At Whale Cay, Heiress Marion Carstairs has established a successful argicultural colony. Amercian financier Wallace Groves also has Berry Island home on a privately-owned cay.
